The Addi Click Lace needle tips are nickel plated. Addi’s nickel plating process is electro-static, which produces a smooth, rounded edge, where the tip and the cord “click” together. According to YarnMarket, this set has met with rave reviews from lace knitters who have tested them.

This set comes with five cords that create 16″, 20″, 24″, 32″, and 40″ needles, one click connector and eight (8) needles: US 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11.

Avid knitters are an opinionated bunch, and it seems like everyone has a set of needles to which they’re fiercely loyal. Spend enough time poking around in yarn shops and in knitting circles, and you’ll hear one brand name over and over pop up as a favorite: addi Turbo. addi Turbo Click by Skacel are the “gold standard” in metal style knitting needles. If you are a fan of the smooth slip of the nickel-plated knitting needle, then addi Turbo Click are worth your time.

Knitters who make a wide variety of garments and projects truly are in need of an interchangeable set. Buying set after set of individual straight and circular needles gets expensive fast. Interchangeable needles are the obvious solution to this problem. With one set, you get almost any size needle you’ll need with a circular connector of varying lengths. Skacel makes addi Turbo tips (3.5mm, 3.75mm, 4.0mm, 4.5mm, 5.0mm, 5.5mm, 6.0mm, 8.0mm, 9.0mm, and 10.0mm), with three different lengths of pliable cord (24”, 32” and 40”). There is an additional piece that acts as a connector, useful for storing stiches or attaching cords together.

The “click” comes from the innovative design that allows for assembly without the aid of any tools. Feel free to switch projects midstream and on the go. Assembly is easy; all the user needs to do is plunge the cord into the tip, twist, and release the cord for a secure lock into place. This design is apparently spring-based, and does not screw in as other interchangeable needles do. There is no need for a tightening key, and breaking it takes a pretty strong tug. We weren’t able to do it ourselves.

Do know that there is a bit of getting used to the join mechanism. Don’t give up after the first try! Just a few moments of practice, and you’ll see the wisdom of this locking mechanism. First find the cord notch and join it up to the two dots located on the needle. Insert and push hard, which will activate the spring inside. This is the source of the “click” that gives the addi Turbos their name. Give it a swift tug and if it is secure, you’re “good to go.”

For those who haven’t knitted with nickel-plated tips, it’s worth exploring why they are superior to bamboo, plastic, or wood needles. True, every knitter has their preference, but for speed and accuracy, you just can’t go wrong with nickel-plated. The addi Turbo tips are rounded enough to be safe to the touch, but accurate enough to catch your lightest fingering yarns.

Addi Turbo Click interchangeable needles are, simply put, the “Cadillac” of nickel-plated circulars. Even the case is luxurious! The circulars come in a large black padded case that gives the needles a comfortable home. As-is, the kit isn’t ideal for travel, but smaller, more portable cases can be easily found for travel purposes.

Included also in the package is a needle-sizer, which fits comfortably into the lid of the case. You’ll find that the needle sizes printed on the needles quickly rubs off, so it is a handy tool to keep nearby. Also included in the case are the clear blue plastic cords to connect the needles. These cords have a great degree of flexibility, and are soft to the touch. Three come with the set for your uses.

Why does this matter? Well, the avid knitter – the kind of person who is in the market for high-end nickel-plated interchangeable needles – is likely to start a project, only to decide another project takes precedence. With a set of addi Turbo Click interchangeable needles, this is not a problem. In other words, addi Turbo Click needles allow for maximum options when it comes to knitting projects.

The join is always of great concern to avid knitters using interchangeable needles. If you’ve touched the addi Turbo Clicks before and rejected them because you could feel the join, think again! When a user gets yarn onto the needle, the join practically disappears. Getting yarn caught on the join is definitely not a problem with these needles. That is, unless you’re using a very fine lace yarn or if you’re an exceptionally tight knitter. The join may be worth exploring more for those who have this particular concern. However, it’s our opinion that the join is not an issue for the vast majority of knitters.

Addi Turbo Click interchangeable needles are the highest quality available, which make them more expensive than their competitors. It’s important to note that there are retailers who seem to sell the needles at a vastly lower price than available at your local yarn store. While these bargain-basement prices are tempting, it is important to note that these needles do not come with a warranty. If you buy from a legitimate yarn store, Skacel will guarantee your needles for life (with receipt). The lower-priced needles do come with a “cost,” so to speak.

Interchangeable needles are a necessity once you reach a certain point in your knitting hobby. No matter what your needle preference, knitters will spend more buying individual needles than they’ll spend investing in an interchangeable kit. The addi Turbo Click brand is the superior “Cadillac” of the needle market, manufactured to high quality standards in Germany. For knitters seeking high-speed knitting with stunning accuracy and stitch uniformity, look no further than the addi Turbo Click interchangeable needles!

Knitting is a beautiful craft that provides entertainment and zen-like peace of mind for those who love to engage with the needles. However, sometimes you just want a gorgeous knitted piece with uniform stitches quickly and easily. This is when a machine like the Addi Express Knitting Machine is perfect.

Knitting machines have been around for a long time, but they have become easier to use than ever before. They used to be large, ungainly, and complicated to use, and this is no more. Addi, one of the premier names in knitting today, has a new machine out, the Addi Express Knitting Machine.

There are two versions of the Addi Express Knitting Machine, a regular size with 24 needles, and a “King Size” that features 46. Depending on the size of swatches you plan to make, it’s important to pick the correct size.

Some of the items you can knit up in no time at all include swatches, scarves, baby socks, hats, bags, and more. Large socks aren’t possible on this machine, however, so bear that in mind as you consider the Addi Express Knitting Machine.

Knitting guru Cat Bordhi has even done a useful booklet that Addi Express users are going to need to have. Retailers recommend getting your hands on this book for some great ideas if you’re not sure how to get started.

Upon opening your Addi Express Knitting Machine, you’ll find a few important pieces to your machine. There is some assembly required, but nothing taxing for any average user. Three legs screw into the bottom of the main machine, with a clamp that allows the user to secure the machine to a table. A smaller bag contains three needles, but notice also there is a darning needle inside. This darning needle comes in very handy when it is time to start knitting. Addi knitting pros recommend having a crochet hook and tape measure on hand is a good idea when using the Addi Express Knitting Machine. A circular knitting needle of at least 16” (size 4 or 5) is ideal for removing your knitted piece from the machine.

The machine can knit both flat and “in the round,” so you have maximum flexibility in constructing your knitted garment. Loading the machine is a snap, and Addi Express includes a ball of yarn in the package so you can get started right away. Loading the machine is as easy as turning the knob on the machine, and weaving your yarn in and out of the moving machine needles. Engaging the mechanism to start the auto-knitting is a bit on the tricky side, but once you’ve had a few practice runs, you’ll be in business.

When getting the machine started, it’s important to turn carefully, noting that the yarn is hooking each needle correctly. The yarn can slip off in these early stages, which means you’ll have to back up and start again.

The machine works with all yarns, from light fingering weights to heavier bulk yarns. This means you have maximum versatility when it comes to knitting a garment. In addition, the machine makes very uniform stitches, meaning that blocking is easy and stress-free. For those who like to take shortcuts and skip the blocking process, even experienced knitters won’t be able to tell!

The machine itself is very compact, which means you can take it with you should you need to travel with it. You could even take it to your knitting circle if you have one!

Hello fellow knitters this is a note from Rachel one of the resident product testers and knitting addicts here at Paradise Fibers. I have been playing with the Addi Express for some time now and I must say it is super neat.

One of the newest additions to the Addi Express Knitting Machine is the automatic row counter included on the device. We’ll admit, there is nothing more tedious in knitting than counting rows. The speed the crank on the Addi allows you to knit makes it easy to lose track of rows. When you’re working a machine like the Addi Express, it is nice not to have to concern yourself about counting them!

We also see a use for entrepreneurial pursuits. For those interested in selling knitted goods on today’s hot handcrafted sites like Etsy.com, a knitting machine ups your productivity quotient. Knitted items still fetch a good price, even in a down economy, but hand-knitting them can be time consuming and tedious. For anyone with a side business in knitting, an Addi Express Knitting Machine is an ideal addition to your toolkit.

The Addi Express Knitting Machine is a great machine for those looking for a quick way to make a variety of knitted items. In addition, the high quality of Skacel knitting materials is well known in the knitting community. There are some great accessories available as well, including a stopper that allows increases and decreases, and several Addi Express books that provide patterns to try.

This knitting machine is a real winner!

Whenever you are working with knitting needles, the size is important because their size is directly proportionate to the size of your stitches and how your item will look once it is finished. For this reason you will need to take into consideration not only what type of needle to use but also what size of needle to use as well. The size of knitting needles are based upon both the length and the diameter of the needles.

To begin with, you need to understand that the diameter of the knitting needle refers to its thickness. This will determine what size of stitch you will have, which in turn will determine how big the finished piece will be as well as how it will look. With a thicker needle you will get a larger stitch that has more space between each stitch. So, if you want a smaller stitch that has little space between it, you will then have a smaller piece with smaller stitches.

Another thing that is important is the length of the needle. It is important to choose a needle that can easily hold your project while also allowing you to pass the stitches between the needles. Therefore, if you have a really wide project, you are going to need to use longer needles.

Knitting needle sizes have different numbers based upon their measurement. This has nothing to do with their length or their diameter. Furthermore, you should also know that these numbers will be different from one country to the next. For instance, in America a number 5 needle measures 3.75 mm but this is a number 9 needle in Britain. It is for this reason that you will see on some bags of needles “3.75 mm needle” instead of a number.

The only knitting needle sizes that are the same in both Britain and America are the size 7 needle which is a 4.5 mm knitting needle. Otherwise you will find that the numbers in America will be low for small diameters and can go all the way up to 50. However, in Britain high numbers are used for low diameters and then the numbers decrease from there. This is why it is so important to use a knitting needle conversion chart. Only then will you be able to be certain that you are using the right size of needle.

Bamboo needles offer a pleasantly organic and earthy feel to the hands, and when worked with a yarn such a wool, they can gain a patina from the oils from your hands and the wool. This patina will in no way harm other yarns that you work on the same needles – the patina has become a part of the wood. Its richness adds to their beauty.

Bamboo needles are warm to the touch, and offer a consistently smooth surface to work your yarn on, so that it does not snag or get caught, as may happen with some other types of needles, but neither does yarn simply slide off of them as it can with plastic or metal needles. This cuts down on frustration, especially during a lengthy project or for a brand new knitter.

Bamboo, in nature, is a tall, flexible plant and this characteristic is shared with the needles: their durability and slight flex make them difficult to break and long-lasting. The lightweight nature of bamboo needles makes them perfect for long projects, or for knitters who can’t stand to let a day go past without picking up a project and letting the yarn slide through their fingers.

Bamboo is a very sustainable plant, quickly covering its allotted farmland and growing at a rate that makes it much more eco-conscious to use than any other material. Bamboo has recently become popularly used in everything from dinnerware to flooring, and yarn made from bamboo has received rave reviews. Bamboo needles are perfect for people trying to live a greener life and reduce their carbon footprints across the board, or simply for people who have been looking for the perfect needle without finding it yet.

When choosing the material for your knitting needles, the most important thing to keep in mind is that you will be holding them and working with them for long periods of time. Some knitters don’t change or replace their needles for years, and their needles almost become part of the family.

Bamboo needles have really caught on and nearly every size and type are available at your local craft store. If you can’t find them there, they are easy to find online. Another bonus is that they are often less expensive than metal needles and creating a full matching set is not at all difficult (if you care about that type of thing!).

Circular knitting needles are a wonderful alternative to knitting with multiple double pointed needles. However, the way the needles are stored and packaged, can make for a curled up mess. Generally, the flexible part of the circular knitting needles will need to be relaxed and straightened before you can use them effectively.

The most effective way to straighten your brand new circular knitting needles is to apply some form of heat to the flexible cord connecting the actual needles. A word of caution however: if you are straightening bamboo circular knitting needles, just make sure that you do not damage the bamboo by applying heat to the wood.

Probably the easiest, most foolproof method of straightening out the curling is to use hot, almost boiling water. Add water to a saucepan and heat the water until it is almost boiling. You will want to have an area big enough to stretch out your circular knitting needles once you have dipped the flexible connector into the very hot water for less than a minute. Leaving the cord in the hot water for any longer may not harm it, but it is better to not take chances. After applying the heat, stretch the circular knitting needles out on a towel. At this point, you can either keep the needles stretched out using your hands, or you could lay something heavy on top of them and just leave them until they cool off. Fold the towel over the top of the needles and lay a skillet or brick on top. Hopefully this method will work the first time you do it, but occasionally circular knitting needles are stubborn and require more than one application of heat to fix the problem.

Another easy way to apply heat is to use an iron. This is a more delicate operation, and needs to be done with a lot of care so that the circular knitting needles are not ruined. This method requires a bath towel and a clothes iron. Heat your iron to the lowest setting. Fold the towel over the stretched out circular knitting needles and apply heat from the iron through the towel until they are straightened out.

The basic method for both of these processes is the same; applying heat to the plastic, which, in turn, will allow the needle connector to relax and straighten out.

There are many different types of knitting needles ranging from metal to bamboo to plastic. When determining which is the best knitting needle you have to put in differing factors such as how tight you want to knit, and how many rows you intend to knit.

The best knitting needle will easily allow you to knit both fast and efficient with all kinds of fabrics and rows and from the word around the vine metal needles are the best to go with. Bamboo needles are quite expensive and although they bend easily they also break easily, but unlike metal needles they aren’t slippery.

Bamboo needles aren’t the best knitting needle but more the second best for beginners due to you being less likely to drop stitches during the process. Plastic needles are lightweight, smooth, and flexible, but because of those attributes they are more likely to warp. A newer brand of the plastic needles was created with a metal core so the needles would be less likely to break upon stitching but compared to full metal needles the plastic ones don’t preform as well.

To determine what are the best knitting needles you have to be a little flexible in what you want in a needle. Whether you want it to knit tight like metal, or knit with precision such as bamboo, or maybe you want a fraction of the precision of the bamboo combined with a fraction of the speed and cheap cost of metal and choose plastic.

It all depends on what you are going to knit and how often you knit, and ultimately there are many other factors in determining what are the best knitting needles. From basic facts and what most people look for in a needle metal needles are by far the best knitting needles because they allow you to knit tighter and faster, and are much cheaper and stronger than bamboo or plastic.

The only con to metal needles is they are a little slippery on certain brands, and don’t always give you that personal touch that bamboo seems to give, but if you enjoy knitting and are unsure of what needle to choose try them all while keeping in mind that metal is the logical way to go.

Which needles to you find the best for your projects?

If you’re new to knitting, you may not have used circular knitting needles yet, and they might even intimidate you. No worries! Knitting with circular needles is really very easy, and you might find you enjoy knitting with them more than with straight needles.

Circular knitting needles are made up of two needle points, joined by a flexible cable. You can knit back and forth on them, just like straight needles, if you want to. The benefit is that you can make a much larger project on circular needles, because the cables joining them come in wide variety of lengths. So, if you’re knitting a big project like an afghan or blanket, circular needles are your best choice.

You can also use short circular needles to make projects in the round, without the hassle of using double pointed needles. If you’re knitting a hat, or even some sock patterns, you simply cast on your stitches, and join them in the round, knitting continuously instead of back and forth. Many people find using circular needles is much easier than using a set of double pointed needles.

To join your stitches in the round, cast on your required amount of stitches. When you reach the right number, bring the other end of the needle around (where you started casting on), and knit (or purl, according to your pattern), into that first cast on stitch, joining your work in a circle. To make sure your stitch is tight and doesn’t leave a gap where you join, pick up the tail from your first cast on, and hold it together with your strand of working yarn. Knit the first two or three stitches with this double strand to keep the work tight without leaving a hole. Then drop the tail end and continue knitting as usual with your working strand of yarn.

To choose the right circular needles, look for needles that are smooth and secure in the base that attaches them to the cable. Needles with gaps or roughness will catch on your yarn and snag it when you’re trying to knit. Look for smooth flexible cables that join your needles without gaps or roughness, too. Many cables are made out of stiff plastic that kinks and does not straighten out, and this can lead to a hassle when you’re knitting. Look for pliable plastic that doesn’t hold a kink for the best results.

Circular knitting needles come in a wide variety of sizes and types. You can find them in wood, bamboo, metal, and plastic. It depends on your personal preference which one is right for you, so try several styles before you decide on the right circular knitting needles for you.
